About the position

Our rapidly-growing biotech startup is seeking a highly driven, competitive, and experienced hands-on Business Development Consultant to lead our business development initiatives, including identifying new partnerships and negotiating deals with biotech and pharma companies.

The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented professional with a strong track record of biotech and
pharma deals, as well as an extensive network of contacts within the industry.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid to take on “moonshot” deals and who can work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. In addition to leading our business development initiatives, the Business Development Consultant will be expected to play an instrumental role in helping the CEO with
fundraising efforts.

This role can potentially transition into a leadership position within the company as we continue to grow and expand our operations.

Your responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the pharma/biotech industry,
including potential partners, investors, and customers.
Negotiate and execute partnership agreements, licensing deals, and other strategic agreements with external partners.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on partnering and collaboration strategies,
including deal structures, terms, and conditions.
Work with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with regulations and internal
policies during partnership negotiations and execution.
Monitor and report on the progress and success of partnership and collaboration agreements
and recommend improvements or adjustments as needed.
Work closely with the CEO to assist in securing funding

Education, Skills and Experience

10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field in the life science
industry.
Previous experience in a scale-up or relevant hands-on experience in a corporate life science
environment.
Business acumen: a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including key
players, trends, and regulatory landscape.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain
relationships with external partners, as well as collaborate effectively with internal
stakeholders.
Excellent negotiation skills, including the ability to identify mutually beneficial terms and
navigate complex deal structures.
Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving strategic objectives.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Extensive network in the pharma and biotech field.
Able to identify and address potential issues and challenges in partnership and collaboration
agreements.
Proven track record of successful fundraising in the biotech industry, as well as a deep
understanding of the investment landscape in this space.
